Press Trips

As you can imagine, the Vicksburg Convention and Visitors Bureau receives numerous requests from travel writers each year. In order to accommodate your editorial needs, we need your help in complying with the following guidelines:

The VCVB requests one business week notice for press visits once we have received all your information. This allows us time to find suitable, available lodging to enhance your visit.
Complete and fax back or email the media trip familiarization request form below.
Forward a letter of assignment on letterhead from the media outlet you are representing.
Freelance writers; please forward documentation of recent examples of travel or travel-related feature coverage. Documentation can be in the form of print clippings with your byline or a VHS or cassette sample of coverage you have previously produced.

Notify the Vicksburg CVB of any change in plans immediately.
Forward an original copy of your published feature, cassette tape or VHS tape as well as air dates upon completion

Individual trips for travel journalists can be arranged by the Vicksburg CVB and are handled on an individual basis. Travel press interested in visiting the area on their own should complete this form in its entirety and return it.
