This cultural center tells the story of the Sisters of Mercy who for 132 years educated children and nursed the sick at Saint Francis Xavier Academy and Convent. Tours showcase: the Cobb House (circa 1830), the original school and hospital barracks during the Civil War; the Gothic Revival Convent (1868); the Italianate Auditorium (1885); and the 1937 Academy. Listed in the National Register of Historic Places and is a Mississippi Landmark. Tours are by appointment only. Rates: $5/adults and $3/children and group discounts available.
