Earth Day is just around the corner, and what better way to celebrate than to donate a little elbow grease? Here are a few events happening where you can help keep Vicksburg beautiful.
Vicksburg Community Clean-Up Day
The City of Vicksburg has partnered with Vicksburg Main Street, Visit Vicksburg, and the Rotary Club of Vicksburg to host a Community Clean-Up Day on Friday, April 22 at 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Join us at Washington Street Park, where we will work together to help clean approximately 10 square miles of Vicksburg (approximately the size of JFK Airport), many of which serve as gateways to our visitors.

Located within Vicksburg National Military Park, Vicksburg National Cemetery is the final resting place for over 18,000 U.S. Veterans — 17,000 of those being Union Civil War soldiers — a number unmatched by any other National Cemetery.
Working alongside NPS preservation staff and Park Rangers, volunteers will use a special cleaning solution to return each historic veteran headstone to its brilliant white color — just in time for Memorial Day! What a fantastic way to celebrate National Park Week 2022!
United Way Day of Caring April 28
United Way’s Annual Day of Caring, held for over 20 years, will be held on April 28, beginning at 8:30 am at the parking lot of United Way, 920 South Street. During Kickoff, breakfast will be served, and group pictures will be taken to commemorate the day of service. Groups will leave the kickoff and go directly to their project site.
This year United Way has 14 projects and currently has 175 volunteers signed up!
