6 Ways to Stay Healthy while Supporting Vicksburg Local Businesses
How can you keep yourself and our community healthy while supporting our local businesses that we all love? We’ve come up with a list of 6 ways to help you get through social distancing and continue to support your favorite Vicksburg businesses.
Get outside! Enjoy one of our scenic escapes with a visit to the Vicksburg National Military Park, a stroll along the downtown walking trail, or by taking in one of our famous sunrises/sunsets. All of these activities can be practiced while social distancing.
*Teacher (Parent) Resource: The Vicksburg National Military Park is offering lesson plans to learn about the park. Check out the Vicksburg NMP Facebook page.
Support local restaurants by ordering take out, curbside or delivery! If you are able, consider tipping generously to assist hospitality workers who are going to be hard hit. Don’t forget to fill up your growler with at Key City Brewing too! View our blog with Vicksburg Restaurants Updates to stay up to date on who’s open and who’s offering what.
Shop locally online to support our restaurants, merchants and businesses in our community. Purchase gift certificates to support your local restaurants and retail shops! This will help inject a little cash flow during this uncertain time, and you will have an excuse to shop in your favorite stores later. Here’s a list of merchants that are open.
Sharing and engaging with each other’s pictures helps lifts our spirits and stay in touch. Enjoy our public art, beautiful architecture, and wonderful scenery throughout Vicksburg. Be sure to use our hashtag #visitvicksburg so we can follow along too!
Do sunset pictures make anyone else really happy? You really can’t beat one of our sunsets in Vicksburg!
Be sure to share small business posts as they attempt to get information out about their services and promotions. Vicksburg Main Street has shared some Local Bingo you can play to help pass the time too!
Follow all guidelines by the MS Health Department and Center for Disease & Control Prevention as well as national, state, and local authorities to keep you and your family healthy. Be sure to practice healthy habits by eating well, exercising, and limiting your stress levels. Start planning for a trip once we get through this (we will get through this!). It’s always fun to look at travel sites and dreaming up that next vacation.
