Make a day of discovering Vicksburg history by visiting the Jesse Brent Lower Mississippi River Museum, Old Depot Museum, Old Court House Museum, Yesterday’s Children Antique Doll and Toy Museum and Biedenharn Museum of Coca-Cola Memorabilia – all five of which are within walking distance from one another. The home of the Miss Mississippi Pageant for over 60 years, Vicksburg hosts this can’t-miss event every summer. Get Out and Play

Take the kids to play at Catfish Row Children’s Art Park. Located in Downtown Vicksburg on Levee Street, this park features a playground, splash fountain and gardens. Plus, murals line the floodwalls of the adjacent river, and art walls display artwork from local schoolchildren for fun visual touches. All season long, summer camps are available, so kids can make new friends, explore the outdoors and have some summertime fun.

Stock Up on Fresh Fruits and Vegetables

Taking place between early May and the end of July each year, the Vicksburg Farmer’s Market is open to the public on Saturday mornings and Wednesday afternoons. Enjoy all the beautiful summer weather that Mississippi has to offer while picking out fresh fruits and veggies, homemade goods, crafts, live plants and more from local vendors.
