#VisitMS Responsibly
We look forward to welcoming visitors to Mississippi’s scenic outdoors and numerous tourism offerings throughout the state. Guests are advised to follow the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines while both traveling to and visiting our beautiful state. Safe practices include washing hands regularly with soap and water, minimizing close contact with others, and maintaining a minimum of six feet of social distance from others. Visitors are also encouraged to stay informed of additional public health guidance in local destinations throughout the state to minimize risk to themselves and others.

Reopening Announcements and Current Travel Restrictions
As you make your way to Vicksburg, we encourage you to check in with cities, businesses and events before setting out and to keep up to date with the latest travel guidelines in the U.S. and Mississippi.
Face Masks in Vicksburg: Vicksburg is not currently under a mask mandate.
Vicksburg National Military Park: The VNMP Tour Road is open to vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists, but there are some limitations. The VNMP Visitor Center and USS Cairo Museum are open to the public. The restrooms at the VNMP Visitor Center and the USS Cairo Museum are open.
Licensed NPS Guides: Guided tours are available at this time, licensed guides are available for tours of the city of Vicksburg and the Vicksburg National Military Park using Bluetooth capabilities. To book a tour call 601-636-3827.
Event Restrictions: Everyone attending events and gatherings, including weddings and funerals, should take extra precautions at this time, including:
- Social distancing and wearing a mask in public places is strongly recommended by the State Health Officer.
- Wash hands frequently and thoroughly with soap and water, or use hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available. Look for sanitizers with at least 60 percent alcohol. Warning: Avoid hand sanitizers containing methanol »
- If ill, do not attend any public event and call your physician or healthcare provider if needed.

Casinos – All Vicksburg casinos are open. The Mississippi Gaming Commission is NO LONGER requiring masks to be worn by all persons inside public areas of any Mississippi casino. A copy of the industry letter can be found here.
Restaurants– Many are open for in-house dining and most restaurants are offering takeout.
Attractions – Most attractions have reopened with reduced capacity, modified hours, and increased health and safety measures.
