Established by the Southern Heritage Air Foundation, the Southern Heritage Air Museum is dedicated to preserving the history of American aviation through an assortment of exhibits and a collection of real aircraft. The museum is located at the Vicksburg-Tallulah Regional Airport, just across the river from Vicksburg, Mississippi. The museum is also an affiliate of the World War II Museum in New Orleans.

WHAT’S INSIDE THE SOUTHERN HERITAGE AIR MUSEUM?
Within the Southern Heritage Air Museum, visitors will discover a range of historical artifacts related to the nation’s history of aviation, along with firsthand stories from American servicepeople and displays dedicated to local veterans. The museum also houses an impressive collection of well-maintained aircraft, which includes the following models:
• 1942 North American T-6 Texan
• 1944 North American P-15D Mustang
• 1948 Beech D18S
• 1995 WACO Classic Aircraft Corporation YMF
• 2001 Aviat A-1B Husky
For those who’d prefer to get up close and personal with these airplanes, the Southern Heritage Air Museum offers rides in the T-6 Texan, D18S, WACO YMF and A-1B Husky craft. Note that flights are booked according to the availability of the planes and their pilots, and certain dates may not be available.
