Biedenharn Coca-Cola Museum
There are plenty of museums in town that cover Vicksburg’s rich history and role in the Civil War, but possibly the most interesting one is the Biedenharn Coca-Cola® Museum. Originally a candy and shoe store, the Biedenharn family got its start bottling the popular soda after the founder of the Coca-Cola® company himself, Asa Griggs Candler, suggested they sell the syrup to the area. The family agreed and soon started bottling the product themselves to make it easier to distribute.
Today, the building has been converted into a museum that honors the Biedenharn family and explains how they bottled the soda, along with plenty of interesting information on Coca-Cola® itself. Perfect for families with children, the candy store has made a comeback so you can now enjoy Coca-Cola® related treats and purchase a souvenir.
Downtown Vicksburg
After visiting the Biedenharn Coca-Cola® Museum, stick around and see what else historic downtown Vicksburg has to offer. This area is filled with a variety of things to do, such as:

- Breweries: Take a break from your shopping and relax with drinks at a variety of brewpubs located downtown. 10 South Rooftop Bar & Grill offers a great view of the surrounding area, while Cottonwood Public House is the home of Key City Brew Co. and offers woodfire pizza. Martin’s at Midtown boasts a Southern menu and a wide selection of craft beers.
