Taking a Biking Day on Vicksburg’s Trails

It’s been said that the best way to experience some of Vicksburg’s attractions and historical sites is by bike, and we couldn’t agree more. No matter what brings you to the area, consider grabbing your bike (or renting one nearby at Battlefield Bicycle) and hitting one of the numerous biking trails in Vicksburg. To help you enjoy your trip, Visit Vicksburg offers the details you need to make the most of area trails during your next visit.

When to Plan Your Bike Trip

Nestled in western Mississippi, Vicksburg offers plenty of bike-friendly terrain and weather that will make you want to get outdoors. Spring and fall remain the most popular cycling seasons due to milder temperatures and lower humidity. Average summer temperatures often rise into the high 80s and mid 90s and, when combined with higher humidity, can make riding conditions less comfortable. During the winter, greater chances for precipitation and lower temperatures tend to keep residents and visitors off the bike trails. However, the climate is generally mild, and you’ll find great days for cycling and welcoming trail conditions throughout the year.
