A hotbed of activity during the American Civil War, Vicksburg, Mississippi has much to offer for both casual tourists and dedicated history buffs.
Vicksburg Attractions Passport
Visit Vicksburg launched the City Attractions Passport, a free book the size of a traveler’s passport that allows Vicksburg tourists to collect stamps from museums, tour homes, and other landmark attractions around the city.
How Do I Use The Vicksburg Attractions Passport?
The passport contains descriptions, information, and contact information for participating locations. Once a visitor collects five stamps in the passport, they can redeem it at the Vicksburg Visitors Information Center (52 Old Highway 27 across the street from the Vicksburg National Military Park Clay Street entrance) for a free #VisitVicksburg t-shirt.
The Visitor Information Center is open Monday through Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and closed on Sundays. If you drop by when the VIC is closed, please call 601-636-9421 with your contact information. We can mail your prize to your home address.
The passport is available to pick up for free at the Visitors Information Center AND participating locations such as Biedenharn Coca-Cola Museum, Jesse Brent Lower Mississippi River Museum, Old Court House Museum, Old Depot Museum, and more.
*Until the Vicksburg National Military Park Visitor Center reopens, park stamps can be obtained at the Vicksburg Visitor Information Center.*
Setting foot in one of Vicksburg’s 11 tour homes is not unlike traveling through time itself.
