There is no better way to immerse yourself in the charm of Vicksburg than by taking a stroll along one of the Vicksburg Heritage Walking Trails.
Follow one of five routes—Heritage Route, Captain Speeds Route, Court House Route, Springfield Route or Downtown Route to experience the history of Vicksburg. You can also explore several routes at the same time!
The Vicksburg Heritage Walking Trails allows visitors to immerse themselves in the history of Vicksburg by strolling five different routes featuring 35 markers placed throughout the downtown and historic districts. The Vicksburg Heritage Trails Network Project is funded by the National Park Service’s Lower Delta Initiative and the City of Vicksburg. The project was implemented by the City of Vicksburg, Vicksburg National Military Park, Vicksburg Convention and Visitors Bureau, Vicksburg Main Street, Old Court House Museum, Gordon Cotton, David Maggio, Morgan Gates- Principal Tours and the Vicksburg-Warren County Chamber of Commerce Community Fund.
