WHAT’S INSIDE THE JESSE BRENT LOWER MISSISSIPPI RIVER MUSEUM
Jam-packed with uniquely informative displays, the Jesse Brent Lower Mississippi River Museum covers topics spanning from the Great Mississippi Flood of 1927 to the fish found within the river. Exhibits include:
• ORIENTATION THEATER: This spacious theater offers visitors an in-depth glimpse into how life on the Mississippi has changed over the years.
• 1927 FLOOD WALL AND TENT: These displays examine the Great Mississippi Flood of 1927 – the most destructive flood in the history of the United States. The tent replicates those that housed families displaced by the flood.
• AQUARIUM: This 1,515-gallon, multi-side aquarium is home to a number of fish native to the Mississippi River, including catfish and more.
• MISSISSIPPI RIVER FLOOD MODEL: Learn how certain factors affect the flow of a river with this interactive, outdoor, scaled model of the Mississippi River.

These exhibits are just a taste of all that the Jesse Brent Lower Mississippi River Museum has to offer. Drop by the museum during your next trip to Vicksburg to see what it’s all about – admission is free.
